Community
Circles, contemplative gatherings, conversation, shared meals, guest-led evenings, and spaces where people can move from isolation toward relationship.
PHILUMINOUS HOLISTIC MINISTRY
An emerging New York City ministry for contemplation, spiritual inquiry, pastoral presence, meaningful ritual, human connection, and service — rooted in ancient wisdom and lived in the contemporary world.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY
PhiLuminous Holistic Ministry is being formed for people who value spiritual depth and intellectual honesty at the same time. It is for seekers, contemplatives, creatives, practitioners, people in transition, and anyone who longs for a more meaningful relationship with self, others, nature, mystery, and life.
The intention is not to erase religious traditions or blend them into something vague. It is to create a respectful spiritual container in which wisdom, ritual, silence, reflection, psychology, philosophy, and community can meet without demanding uniformity of belief.
THE LIVING MINISTRY
A ministry is more than a title. It becomes meaningful through people gathering regularly, practices that deepen attention, guidance that respects human dignity, and service that reaches beyond the self.
Circles, contemplative gatherings, conversation, shared meals, guest-led evenings, and spaces where people can move from isolation toward relationship.
Meditation, silence, prayerful reflection, sound, breath, ritual, nature, and other practices approached with respect rather than performance.
Non-clinical spiritual guidance around meaning, transition, grief, identity, values, belonging, purpose, and the questions that do not fit neatly into ordinary conversation.
A community matures when inner work becomes care, hospitality, collaboration, generosity, and practical participation in the wellbeing of others.
PASTORAL + SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE
Spiritual guidance creates room for reflection when life touches identity, purpose, grief, change, belonging, values, ritual, or a deeper sense of direction. The work is conversational, contemplative, and non-clinical.
It can sit alongside appropriate psychotherapy, medical care, coaching, or other professional support. It is not a replacement for them.
Sessions may include reflective conversation, contemplative practice, meaning-making, spiritual inquiry, personal ritual, and integration of life transitions within the person’s own worldview.
FROM MINISTRY TO CHURCH
The larger vision is a genuine spiritual community with a regular rhythm of gathering, a clear spiritual philosophy, pastoral care, ceremony, education, service, and a physical home. That future should be earned through real community — not declared before it exists.
For now, PhiLuminous is building the foundation through Circles, spiritual community, pastoral presence, and the people who feel called to help shape what comes next.
Gather people who genuinely resonate with the purpose and culture of the community.
Develop a consistent rhythm of gatherings, contemplative practice, teaching, dialogue, ritual, and service.
Build the formal organizational, ethical, administrative, and governance framework appropriate to an enduring ministry.
Create a future place for gathering, reflection, healing-oriented wellness, education, ceremony, and human connection.
FOUNDER + MINISTER
PhiLuminous was founded by Dave Mitrovic as an integrative framework for human flourishing. As an ordained minister, Dave is developing the spiritual dimension of PhiLuminous as a community-centered ministry grounded in contemplation, human dignity, meaningful ritual, personal responsibility, and respect for multiple paths of sincere spiritual inquiry.
The role of ministry here is not to dictate belief, diagnose experience, or replace qualified healthcare. It is to hold space responsibly, offer perspective and ritual where appropriate, support reflection, and help create a community in which people can encounter meaning without surrendering discernment.
BUILT TO SERVE NEW YORK
The future church is being designed around two responsibilities at once: authentic spiritual life for its congregation, and clearly defined community programs that can serve people beyond worship. That distinction matters for trust, partnerships, responsible philanthropy, and future grant readiness.
Planned circles and community gatherings designed to reduce isolation, create meaningful connection, and help New Yorkers build durable relationships.
Non-clinical spiritual accompaniment, remembrance practices, and referral-aware support for people moving through grief, change, identity shifts, and major life transitions.
Planned workshops and public conversations around meaning, contemplative practice, human flourishing, creativity, cultural wisdom, and responsible personal development.
Volunteer service, collaborations, and future community initiatives developed with local organizations rather than created in isolation from neighborhood needs.
FOUNDING PATRONS + STRATEGIC PARTNERS
We are interested in conversations with people and institutions who understand the long horizon: building a credible New York spiritual community, creating sustainable programming, and eventually establishing a permanent physical home.
Individuals and families interested in mission-aligned charitable support once the organization has the appropriate legal, banking, and receipting infrastructure in place.
Owners, brokers, developers, institutions, or community partners who may know of suitable gathering space, favorable lease structures, shared-use opportunities, or a future permanent home.
Attorneys, accountants, nonprofit leaders, grant professionals, fundraisers, designers, technologists, facilitators, and operators who can strengthen the institution behind the vision.
People with experience in philanthropy, public funding, foundations, community development, or institutional partnerships who can help build a realistic funding pipeline.
BEGIN WITH COMMUNITY
If this vision feels familiar before it even exists, you may be one of the people it is being built for. Start with a PhiLuminous Circle, request a private conversation, or join the founding community updates.
